Club Championships 50m & 100m and Diggers Shield Carnival

It has been a busy week at the swimming club with the Club Championships for 50m and 100m on Sunday and the Diggers Shield on Thursday night.

Club Championships – 50m and 100m

Congratulations to everyone who participated in the Club Championships in particular to Deb Jenkins and John Hennessy who won their events.

Diggers Shield

We had a fantastic night for the annual Diggers Shield. Thank you to everyone who came along to not only swim but help with the running of the event. It was a beautiful evening with perfect weather.

Congratulations to the Kurranulla team (who consisted mainly of members of the Wood family!) for winning the 10-a-side relay.

Carnival – Cronulla RSL & Coogee / Randwick swimming clubs

The annual Cronulla RSL and Coogee / Randwick swimming carnival was held at Gunnamatta bay this year. It was perfect weather and both clubs had a fantastic turn with over 100 swimmers competing.

The big events of the day are the 10-side relays – handicapped and championship. This year, Coogee / Randwick were victorious in both. Congratulations to both teams and well done to everyone who competed.

Thank you to everyone from both clubs who assisted with the running of the event. We look forward to next year’s carnival at Coogee / Randwick
